Launch of the Husky Division Recruitment!
The exciting opportunity to participate in the 2025 edition of the "Dog Breed Photo Book Project" is now open! Run by Akka Communications LLC, based in Minato, Tokyo, this unique initiative by Reiwa Publishing invites dog owners to team up in creating a special photo book that showcases their beloved pets. This reader-participation effort will focus on 20 dog owners and their dogs of different breeds, aiming to capture the essence of each dog in a beautiful compilation.
After the photo book's release, a reader-inclusive award category will be introduced, and the dog that wins the grand prize will enjoy a special benefit: a unique photo book dedicated solely to their beloved pooch!
Purpose of the Community Publishing Project
Reiwa Publishing aims to redefine publishing by embedding community participation in the process. It goes beyond just dogs, intending to eventually encompass many animals, including cats, small animals, birds, and exotic pets as part of its broader outreach. This engagement will allow both pets and their owners to shine, creating a distinctive platform to spread their love across Japan.
The current phase focuses on dogs, with plans to broaden the initiative to other pet categories soon. The project will sell the photo book as both a physical and an electronic edition, sharing the allure of pets in diverse formats.
Project Overview

the project page.
Dog Breed Participation
The "Dog Breed Photo Book Project" is seeking applications from dog owners across five popular breeds. For each breed, 50 dogs and their owners are invited. The production of the photo book will begin once enough dogs are gathered.
Even if a dog owner has several dogs of the same breed, all can be included. Moreover, mixes are welcome as long as they exhibit traits characteristic of their breed.
The first five breeds to be showcased are:
1. Shiba Inu (Mameshiba),
2. Chihuahua,
3. Pomeranian,
4. Beagle,
5. Husky.
Award and Special Benefits: Vote to Support Your Favorite Dog!
Readers can show their support for their favorite dog featured in the photo book by voting through a dedicated QR code that links to an introduction page for each dog. This page collects links to Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), online shops, and more to facilitate easy access to each dog's social media presence.
The access to these QR codes will be counted as votes, culminating in an award announcement six months after the book's launch. The top five dogs will be celebrated and guaranteed a spot in the following year’s photo book!
Furthermore, the top dog will be awarded a unique opportunity to have an exclusive photo book published solely featuring them—available nationwide through platforms like Amazon.
Revenue Distribution to Dog Owners
All book sales will directly benefit the contributing dog owners, whether the format is a printed book or an eBook.
