Ampace Unveils Next-Gen UPS Battery Solutions at Datacloud Global Congress 2026
Ampace Redefines UPS Battery Solutions for AI Data Centers at Datacloud Global Congress 2026
This week, Ampace is making a notable appearance at the Datacloud Global Congress 2026, held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. At Stand 301, the company presents its latest lithium-ion battery solutions specifically designed to meet the energy demands of modern AI data center infrastructures.
In recent years, the European data center market has faced unprecedented challenges, particularly concerning power supply. By the end of 2026, total supply in the region is projected to exceed 10 GW, a historic milestone that still falls short of the demands driven by AI technologies. AI implementations of the next generation have ramped up rack densities to over 100 kW, resulting in millisecond load fluctuations that conventional UPS infrastructure is not equipped to handle.
One of Ampace's flagship products, the PU200, aims to support data centers in managing the increasingly dynamic workload associated with AI while ensuring high levels of safety, reliability, and deployment flexibility. Built on Ampace's patented semi-solid cell architecture, the system reduces thermal gas emission by an impressive 58% compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. Designed for long-term operation in demanding environments, this technology meets the growing European demand for a more secure and durable energy infrastructure capable of supporting operational efficiency and sustainability goals.
The PU series ranges from batteries designed for multi-hour energy storage to backup responses within 90 seconds, effectively addressing the diverse energy needs emerging in AI-enabled data center deployments. This strategy reflects a growing consensus within the industry regarding the necessity for batteries to take a more active role in energy systems during the AI era. As AI workloads become more dynamic, energy storage must evolve beyond traditional backup functions to support load balancing, infrastructure resilience, and more efficient use of existing UPS ecosystems.
On June 3, from 12:20 PM to 1:00 PM, James Li, General Manager of UPS, Data Centers, and Telecommunications at Ampace, will participate in a panel discussion on the Discovery Stage. The topic will be "Which is more suited for future high-density computing needs, AC power or DC power?" As the leader of Ampace's global mission-critical energy storage strategy, Li will provide insights into the future direction of energy requirements.
