MiTAC Computing Unveils Innovative Server Solutions
MiTAC Computing Technology, a prominent player in energy-efficient and high-performance server solutions, has announced its participation in the OCP EMEA Summit 2025, held from April 29 to 30 at the Convention Centre in Dublin. The company is set to showcase its latest advancements in server design, sustainable cooling technologies, and open-source firmware development at booth B13.
New Server Platforms: C2810Z5 and C2820Z5
At this year's summit, MiTAC will launch two new OCP server platforms: the MiTAC C2810Z5 and the C2820Z5. Tailored for high-performance computing (HPC) applications and artificial intelligence workloads, these multi-node servers are engineered around the latest AMD EPYC™ 9005 processors. Both models are specifically designed to optimize computational density and energy efficiency in data centers, addressing growing demands in the tech landscape.
The C2810Z5 is a 2U single-socket, dual-node server that supports up to 12 DDR5-6400 DIMM slots per node. It is well-suited for deploying microservices in cloud environments, providing excellent performance per watt. On the other hand, the C2820Z5, a 2U four-node dual-socket server, represents a significant leap in thermal design and sustainability. It employs direct liquid cooling technology, which effectively reduces the server's energy consumption and acoustic noise levels while improving overall energy usage efficiency.
OpenBMC and Open Platform Firmware: Pioneering Server Management
In line with its commitment to transparency and innovation, MiTAC will also host live demonstrations of the development of OpenBMC and Open Platform Firmware during the summit. These demonstrations will highlight MiTAC's extensive expertise in integrating hardware and software—an essential capability that sets the company apart in the data center sector.
Open-source firmware is more than a trend; it represents the future of scalable and secure infrastructure. MiTAC Computing's portfolio, built on OpenBMC and Open Platform Firmware, offers customers flexibility, transparency, and control. This approach enhances server management, allows for quicker deployments, and fosters sustainability through authentic open-source innovations.
Introducing MiTAC Whitestone 2: A Blend of Heritage and Innovation
Furthermore, MiTAC will unveil the MiTAC Whitestone 2 (WS2) series of servers, designed for ORAN CU/DU applications and edge computing. The WS2 platform is compact yet powerful, supporting scalable Intel® Xeon® 4th Generation processors. With a short depth 1U chassis and front-access design for easy maintenance, it includes robust synchronization technologies such as IEEE 1588 v2 and Sync-E, perfectly calibrated for telecommunications and mobile edge deployments.
The WS2 server, with broader operational temperature ranges and dual power input at 48 VDC, along with its built-in Intel Mount Bryce FEC accelerator, exemplifies MiTAC's ongoing contributions to the Open Compute Project community. It is particularly well-suited for vRAN and O-RAN deployments, aligning seamlessly with OCP’s vision for open, flexible, and sustainable edge computing in the EMEA region.
