Woody's Brands Welcomes Ray Risley as New CEO in Leadership Shift

Woody's Brands Elevates Ray Risley to CEO Amid Leadership Change

In a strategic move signaling a new chapter for Woody's Brands, the Texas-based hospitality group has appointed Ray Risley as its new CEO. This announcement arrives as founder Bob Wilson transitions into the role of chairman of the board of directors, poised to offer guidance on the company's long-term strategic initiatives and growth paths.

Ray Risley joined Woody's Brands in December 2025 as the president, working under Bob Wilson, and now steps up to lead the organization at a pivotal juncture. Woody's Brands operates a portfolio of 44 establishments across Texas and Louisiana, comprising a mix of bars and social gaming venues like Little Woodrow's, Woody's Hideaway, and Eddie's Tavern. The company has emerged as a key player in the growing 'eatertainment' space, which blends dining experiences with interactive social gaming.

In his acceptance of the role, Risley remarked, "Bob and the Woody's Team have built an incredible foundation over three decades, and what stands out to me is the focus they have put on our guests. Our distinctive position in the eatertainment sector is characterized by high hospitality and neighborhood-driven experiences that facilitate genuine connections among patrons. Our goal as we move forward is to scale this authenticity while preserving the community ties that make each of our locations unique."

The leadership change comes at an exciting time for Woody's Brands, which has been actively expanding its footprint within Texas. Recently, the company opened a new Woody's Hideaway in Conroe in January, and following closely, the 24th location of Little Woodrow's at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco on March 18.

Bob Wilson expressed confidence in his successor, stating, "Ray's promotion to CEO is a reflection of his exceptional leadership skills and vision for Woody's Brands. I am looking forward to working alongside him in my capacity as chairman to further our growth while maintaining the brand's authenticity that our neighbors cherish."

Risley carries with him a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, boasting over 30 years of expertise. His previous roles have included president and COO of TGI Fridays as well as various executive leadership positions at notable establishments such as Via 313 Pizzeria, Whiskey Cake, Ida Claire, and Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse. His extensive background positions him well to guide Woody's Brands in its next growth phase.

Founded in Houston in 1995, Woody's Brands continues to innovate and thrive within the bar, food, and social gaming market. As they pursue their expansion throughout Texas and Louisiana, patrons can expect the same quality experiences they have grown to love, infused with Risley's fresh perspective as CEO.
