RevelAi Health Secures $3.1 Million to Enhance AI Care Coordination for Musculoskeletal Health

RevelAi Health Secures Significant Seed Funding

On June 18, 2025, RevelAi Health announced a major milestone in their journey towards transforming musculoskeletal healthcare with the closure of an oversubscribed seed funding round, totaling $3.1 million. This investment was primarily led by Ulu Ventures and Symphonic Capital, with participation coming from notable investors including Orthopedic VC, Sand Hill Angels, and a consortium of highly regarded orthopedic surgeons.

Musculoskeletal disorders represent a substantial burden on the U.S. healthcare system, accounting for over $420 billion in annual spending. This has become particularly pressing as the nation faces a projected shortage of up to 86,000 orthopedic physicians by 2036. To combat these issues and optimize care delivery, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is implementing mandatory risk-sharing models for orthopedic cases, moving towards a value-based care approach by 2030.

“Musculoskeletal care is on the verge of a paradigm shift from isolated treatment episodes to comprehensive population management,” said Dr. Christian Pean, the CEO of RevelAi Health and an orthopedic trauma surgeon. “Our AI-driven platform equips healthcare organizations to effectively navigate this transition.”

RevelAi's innovative platform serves as a virtual care navigator, available 24/7, for orthopedic practices. It employs evidence-based triage processes while also facilitating the collection of required quality reporting through voice or text interfaces. Notably, RevelAi transforms every patient interaction—whether by phone, video, or in-person—into structured clinical documentation. This includes coding and generating automated alerts for risk management.

The system streamlines workflows across various stages of patient care including Principal Care Management, Transitional Care Management, and preoperative optimization. Importantly, it aligns well with CMS's new Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM) and other value-driven care initiatives, achieving this without necessitating additional input from healthcare staff. RevelAi’s clinical guidelines and decision-making protocols are consistently refined by its advisory panel of board-certified orthopedic surgeons, ensuring adherence to the latest best practices and regulatory standards.

Dr. Ronald Delanois, Chairman at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, praised RevelAi's approach, stating, “Our AI agents play a crucial role in minimizing care gaps, reducing unnecessary emergency department visits, and simplifying the quality assessment process, all without adding to the burden on our medical teams.”

Moreover, Dr. Joseph Zuckerman, Chair of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Health, emphasized the importance of conversational AI technologies in meeting the requirements outlined in the Transforming Episode Accountability Model. “RevelAi represents a confluence of top-tier surgical expertise and comprehensive social care—ultimately enhancing the overall musculoskeletal health landscape,” he noted.

According to Clint Korver, Managing Director at Ulu Ventures, “RevelAi is successfully automating numerous aspects of care management. Their AI-driven orchestration is scalable and significantly alleviates the workload on clinicians while significantly enhancing the patient experience.”

Hadi Javeed, the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, added, “Our goal is to build an AI ecosystem that integrates every patient interaction into a cohesive care strategy.”

The newly acquired funds will be strategically allocated to deepen integrations with electronic health records and practice management technologies. Additionally, RevelAi plans to expand its library of AI-generated outcome surveys and risk algorithms while bolstering its engineering and research teams. Collaborations with health systems, specialty societies, and outpatient surgical networks are also high on their agenda.

RevelAi Health specializes in coordinating care through conversational AI for musculoskeletal health. The platform enhances patient engagement, ambient documentation, social-care triage, and quality tracking, enabling providers to minimize readmissions, optimize care transitions, and thrive in value-based payment frameworks.
