Andrew Blockinger Wins the 2025 Emil Esposito Golf Professional of the Year Award



In a momentous event during the 2025 Annual KemperSports Leadership Conference held in Glenview, Illinois, Andrew Blockinger, Head Golf Professional at Holly Hills Country Club, was named the Emil Esposito Golf Professional of the Year. This prestigious award is a tribute to individuals in the golf community who not only excel in their profession but embrace golf as a lifestyle in the spirit of Emil Esposito, a dedicated PGA Professional.

Andrew's achievement reflects exceptional leadership and creativity in the local golf scene, particularly during his brief tenure of just two years at Holly Hills. General Manager Mike Barrett praised Andrew's ability to transform the club's golf program into a thriving and inclusive community. Originally from New Market, Maryland, Andrew's journey into the golf world began early, instilled by his grandfather’s passion for the sport. By the time he was 15, Andrew had already embarked on his professional journey, gaining experience as an outside service team member at Worthington Manor Golf Club.

Following his graduation from Linganore High School, Andrew pursued his golfing career diligently, enrolling in the Professional Golf Management Program at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Here, he not only honed his golfing skills but also graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, impressively managing to earn his Class A membership to the PGA.

Throughout his career, Andrew has built a rich portfolio within the Mid-Atlantic region, holding various positions in both private and public golf clubs. His experience as an Assistant Golf Professional at prestigious facilities like Musket Ridge Golf Club and Chartwell Country Club has equipped him with the skills necessary to elevate the golfing experiences at Holly Hills Country Club for its members, their families, and guests alike.
