Limited-Time Sweets Inspired by Tanba Black Soybeans

The café-bar at Engawa ASAKUSA has curated two original Japanese sweets that highlight the exquisite taste and aroma of Tanba black soybeans, complemented by traditional accompaniments like Japanese tea and chewy rice dumplings, making them ideal for hot summer days.

Tanba Black Soybeans: Japan's Culinary Treasure

Originating from the Tanba region, spanning across Hyogo and Kyoto Prefectures, Tanba black soybeans are recognized as one of the finest varieties in Japan. These glossy, large beans are cherished for their deep richness and sweet flavor, commonly enjoyed in festive dishes like osechi, as they symbolize good fortune. The collaboration with Danba no Kurotaro, a respected food company with over 90 years of expertise, ensures that the desserts capture the authentic taste and texture of these exceptional beans.
