An Unforgettable Evening of Art and Sports at MEGURO MARC
On October 5th, 2025, MEGURO MARC hosted a spectacular cultural event merging art and sports, led by Embedded Blue, a company dedicated to fostering cultural richness through art projects. The event took place at the distinct art gallery, EVERANDART, culminating in a closing event for the exhibition by artist Kohei Shinno. This collaboration with the street-ball culture brand, ballaholic, attracted a lively crowd and established a novel urban experience that celebrated these blended cultures.
The highlight of the day was the arrival of the "ANYWHERE HOOP TRUCK," a movable basketball court brought in by ballaholic. This interactive setup allowed participants of all ages to engage with the game, creating an electrifying atmosphere filled with excitement and joy. Laughter and cheers echoed through the venue as both young and old enjoyed the basketball activities.
Adding to the vibrant environment, JUNK HOUSE, a popular burger shop, set up shop on-site, providing delicious food options that enhanced the overall experience of the event. This fusion of sports and food created a sense of community and togetherness that resonated throughout the venue.
Captivating Moments of the Event
The attendance on that day exceeded expectations, with approximately 100 visitors participating in the activities at the MEGURO MARC garden. The air was filled with energy as sports, food, and art intersected, creating a unique cultural space.
Inside the EVERANDART gallery, the closing day of Kohei Shinno's exhibition provided a beautiful backdrop for attendees, who enjoyed the unique blend of art appreciation and street culture happening simultaneously. As night fell, the garden was illuminated, drawing more people in as they circled around, captivated by both the artwork and the festivities.
Future Prospects for MEGURO MARC
This initiative is part of Embedded Blue's ongoing MEGURO MARC Area Management Program, aimed at integrating diverse cultural elements like art, sports, and food into the everyday life of the community, thereby promoting cultural wellbeing.
Looking ahead, MEGURO MARC plans to host various cultural programs in collaboration with local businesses and brands. An upcoming highlight in December will be "MEGURO MARC Snow Christmas," anticipated to be the largest winter event in Meguro’s history, showcasing the evolution of this venue as a cultural hub that transcends seasons and genres.
