2025 New Technology Creation Exchange: Matchmaking Event for SMEs and Large Corporations

The 2025 New Technology Creation Exchange: A Unique Opportunity for SMEs and Startups

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, through the Tokyo Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Corporation, is organizing the New Technology Creation Exchange 2025 on October 23 and 24. This matchmaking event aims to foster collaboration between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups in Tokyo, and the research and development departments of large corporations. Applications for participation are open until June 18, 2025, and notably, there is no participation fee.

What is the New Technology Creation Exchange 2025?

This large-scale event serves as a platform for SMEs and startups with innovative technologies and products to engage in commercial discussions with major companies that are keen on open innovation. The event will feature both individual meetings and a product exhibition, providing extensive networking opportunities.

Historically, the exchange has successfully facilitated numerous collaborations between participating SMEs and large corporations, often leading to entry into new growth industries or ongoing product development partnerships.

Previous Year’s Highlights

In the previous year's exchange, a total of 496 SMEs entered, representing a wide array of industries, while 235 large corporations and 367 departments participated in seeking new technological partnerships.

Key Points of the Event

1. Opportunity to Promote to Over 200 Large Companies
Participants can submit a Technology Appeal Sheet during the entry process, which will be exclusively shared with the large companies attending the event. This opens up channels for widespread publicity among more than 200 major corporations connected to the promotion corporation.

2. Needs-Matching Individual Meetings
The event will utilize a needs-matching system for individual meetings, whereby only companies that receive meeting invitations from large corporations can participate. This approach ensures targeted matching based on the developmental needs of major corporations, thereby increasing the chances for SMEs to enter new growth sectors.

Note: In cases where no invitation is received from large companies, participants will be unable to join the individual meetings or the product exhibition.

3. Experienced Coordinators for Support
Attendees will benefit from the expertise of coordinators with extensive experience in product and technology development within large corporations. They will conduct pre-event interviews to gather insights into the technological needs of major firms, facilitating effective discussions during the event.

4. Simultaneous Product Exhibition
The exchange will also feature a product exhibition, running concurrently with individual meetings. This setup allows for discussions with various attendees interested in collaboration or partnerships. By showcasing products in the exhibition, companies can reinforce the discussions they had during meetings with larger firms.

5. No Participation Fees
Both the individual meetings and the product exhibition are free of charge, making it an accessible opportunity for participating companies. Additionally, entry companies can take part in ongoing matching opportunities outside of the exchange schedule, including university and research institution matchmaking.
