As the gentle evenings of early summer approach, Odaiba will come alive with shimmering lights and heartfelt wishes. The Japan e-Lantern Association invites you to a memorable experience—the Odaiba Beach Lantern Launch Event on May 9 and June 6, 2026.

Event Overview

The event is designed as an interactive experience, featuring eco-friendly LED lanterns that won’t harm the environment. Instead of traditional fire-lit lanterns, these modern creations float gracefully in the night sky, harnessed by helium gas and attached to strings for safe retrieval. This clever design ensures both safety and environmental responsibility.

At Odaiba Seaside Park, participants will witness a breathtaking panorama as soft lantern lights illuminate the sky against the backdrop of the Rainbow Bridge.

The lanterns used during this event are from Rantan-ya, a provider featured in various advertisements and Tokyo government-sponsored events. These lanterns are uniquely designed with LED lights, ensuring safety while providing a nostalgic warmth through the use of traditional Japanese paper, which diffuses the light softly, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
