Daqo Unveils SF6-Free Energy Distribution Solutions at The Smarter E Europe 2026
Daqo Unveils Innovative Energy Distribution Solutions at The Smarter E Europe 2026
Daqo has recently made waves at The Smarter E Europe 2026 in Munich, presenting its latest solutions for energy distribution without the use of SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride). As European markets rapidly embrace renewable energy sources, the demand for efficient and environmentally friendly energy solutions has never been greater. Project owners are now under increased pressure to connect new generators and energy-intensive loads to the grid swiftly, while also meeting stringent environmental and reliability standards.
One of the standout products featured by Daqo is its Ring Main Unit (RMU) from the DQS Air series, which utilizes air insulation combined with vacuum interruption technology. This innovative design presents a sustainable alternative to conventional SF6 equipment used for medium-voltage distribution. The compact and hermetically sealed construction of the DQS Air is engineered to minimize maintenance needs and ensure reliable operation in urban distribution networks. It is particularly beneficial for connecting renewable energy projects and industrial facilities as part of network modernization initiatives.
In addition to the DQS Air, Daqo introduced its latest air-insulated RMU designed for secondary distribution networks. This solution offers flexible configuration options, intelligent monitoring, and remote operation capabilities, responding to customer demands for greener, more manageable energy distribution infrastructures.
In the realm of renewable energy and energy storage projects, Daqo highlighted its containerized photovoltaic systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). By integrating boosting transformers, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage distribution boards, and auxiliary monitoring systems into a factory-assembled unit, Daqo's solutions aid developers and EPC contractors in minimizing on-site interfaces. This approach simplifies project coordination and shortens the path from delivery to grid connection.
For energy-intensive sectors such as data centers, Daqo presented the DQMpower 2.0, a modular power solution that integrates low-voltage distribution, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) functionalities, and energy quality management and monitoring. This solution enhances deployment efficiency, optimizes space in electrical rooms, and improves operational oversight. The company's semiconductor transformer technology has also gained attention as a forward-looking platform facilitating flexible interactions between grids, loads, storage, and DC systems.
Kevin Lin, the CEO of Daqo's European division, emphasized during discussions at the event, "Our talks confirmed the market's clear priority: energy infrastructure projects require cleaner devices, faster grid connections, and greater supply certainty. Daqo is strengthening its local European coordination and partner networks, ensuring customers have access to integrated technical packages with clearer interfaces and robust supply support."
Daqo's European strategy merges manufacturing scale with localized coordination and partner support. The company boasts an industrial base comprising 32 manufacturing facilities that cover medium and low voltage equipment, transformers, automation, and system integration. This approach means coordinated technical packages for European customers, leading to fewer supplier interfaces and more manageable deliveries.
Looking ahead, Daqo is committed to collaborating with utility companies, developers, EPC contractors, and industrial customers to promote a cleaner, more reliable, and rapidly deployable energy infrastructure across Europe. With a clear focus on expanding its presence and optimizing energy distribution technologies, Daqo is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy in the region.
