Celebrating Haruka Nakamura's Artistic Journey
The heartwarming art exhibition, "Art Village Exhibition: Haruka Nakamura Solo Exhibition," will open in Tokyo's Minato Ward at the Annex Aoyama space in front of PASONA SQUARE from May 28 to June 1. Organized by Pasona Heartful, a special subsidiary of Pasona Group led by Chairperson Junko Fukazawa, the event showcases about 20 paintings created by Haruka Nakamura, an artist with intellectual disabilities who has been impressively channeling her creativity since joining the company in 2018.
A Closer Look at the Artist
Haruka Nakamura stands out for her brilliant color choices and unique perspectives in her artworks. Notable pieces include "Hana-guruma" (Flower Cart) and "Koi no Bori 2" (Carp Streamers 2), where bold hues and whimsical designs tell stories of joy and imagination. Her work is not only visually stunning but also represents her journey of self-discovery—she has emphasized that her artistic inspirations often come from unique subjects she finds while exploring encyclopedias, allowing her artistic voice to emerge with confidence.
In addition to her exhibition, Haruka's work has already gained recognition beyond the gallery walls. One of her pieces, depicting an ammonite, has even been selected as the souvenir illustration for the PASONA Natureverse pavilion at the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo, which speaks volumes about her growing prominence in the art world.
