Japanese Optimal Nutrition Association at the Food Fair

On August 1st, 2026, the Japanese Optimal Nutrition Association (JONA), led by Director Hiroshi Ito, participated in the 12th Yamato Food Education Fair held in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The event was an initiative led by the local government to promote food education and health awareness among families and seniors, emphasizing balanced nutrition.

At the fair, JONA set up an engaging booth aimed at raising awareness about "optimized nutrition food." The theme, "Do You Know Yamato's Food? - A Bit Healthier Living," encouraged attendees to explore healthy eating practices while having fun. The booth attracted diverse visitors, including families and older generations, who showed particular interest in the organization's efforts to address various nutritional and health challenges.

These challenges include issues such as obesity in middle-aged individuals, low nutrition in young women, and frailty in the elderly. JONA's representatives explained the vast social impact of these issues and highlighted the significance of balanced diets in combating them. An on-site survey revealed that around 39.1% of participants felt that the financial burden was a major obstacle to preparing balanced meals, while approximately 38.4% cited a lack of nutritional knowledge, and 35.5% mentioned time constraints as significant hurdles.

Feedback from participants was positive, with many expressing a newfound commitment to paying attention to their nutritional intake. Notable comments included aspirations to eat healthier and an increased understanding of the importance of a balanced diet. To further engage attendees, JONA provided samples of their certified optimized nutrition products, including “Complete Meal BREAD with Chocolate Cream” and “Complete Meal Spicy Curry”, both of which received enthusiastic responses and were fully distributed by the end of the day.

JONA aims to continue its collaboration with local governments to address nutritional issues relevant to various life stages. They are dedicated to promoting and spreading the concept of optimized nutrition food in efforts to improve public health and well-being.
