Experience the Fascinating World of Logistics and IT in Japan: A Hands-on Event for Kids

Explore the World of Logistics and IT with Pal System's Hands-on Event

Pal System, a leading cooperative in Japan, is hosting an exciting hands-on event titled "Work Experience" over three days in September 2025. This engaging program is set to take place from September 6th to 23rd at their logistics and IT experiential facility in Inagi City, Tokyo. The event aims to provide elementary school students and their parents with insights into the delivery and logistics systems that make modern living possible.

An Interactive Opportunity to See the Invisible Work

The "Work Experience" event is designed to be interactive, allowing participants to observe and understand the backend processes involved in the logistics sector. Attendees will have the chance to see sorting machines, which are used daily at Pal System's logistics center, along with original videos, informative panels, and tablets that aid in experiencing the logistics system creatively. The entire program is expected to last about one hour and is supported by the Inagi City Education Committee.

Pal System is known for delivering over ten million items weekly to around 800,000 households. During this event, visitors will learn about the sophisticated mechanism that ensures the efficient delivery of numerous products, enhanced by advanced sorting machines and information systems. This experience will also highlight contemporary trends like digitalization, enabling participants to grasp the rapid shifts occurring in society. Importantly, there will be discussions on how pre-ordering essential food items can help minimize food waste, promoting sustainability in food delivery.

A Successful Initiative Since 2023

Since its inception in 2023, the "Work Experience" program has welcomed over 1,200 participants, including students from local primary and secondary schools. Children attending have expressed their excitement with comments such as, "Purchasing with the tablet was fun!" and “I want to experience more!” Parents have also shared positive feedback, noting, “It was beneficial for us adults too,” and “Our child has developed a newfound interest in food.”
