GA Telesis Engine Services Strengthens APAC Operations with New Contracts and Certification
GA Telesis Engine Services Expands Its APAC Footprint
GA Telesis Engine Services, also known as GATES, is making significant strides in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region with the recent acquisition of its Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certification from South Korea. This important milestone allows GATES to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for various engine models, specifically the CFM56-5B, CFM56-7B, and CF6-80C2. This achievement not only enhances GATES' operational capacity but also opens the door for independent MRO services in a competitive market typically dominated by Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) affiliated maintenance shops.
Securing this certification means that GATES can now directly service South Korean airlines, which have a growing number of engines requiring upkeep. The added competition is expected to reduce costs and increase reliability for airline operators, providing a much-needed alternative in the MRO landscape. "This approval reflects our ongoing investment to support GA Telesis' customers in the APAC region," stated Gunnar Mar Sigurfinnsson, President of GATES. "We look forward to supporting South Korean operators with industry-leading turnaround times, deep technical expertise, lower maintenance costs, and a customer-first approach."
In addition to the AMO certification, GATES has also signed a significant maintenance contract with MIAT Mongolian Airlines for the overhaul of its CFM56-7B engines. This new deal marks another important step in GATES' expansion strategy in the APAC region, further strengthening its reputation as a reliable partner for airlines looking for high-quality MRO services. Gantulga Baasanjav, COO and Chief Pilot of MIAT, expressed confidence in their partnership, stating, "GATES has built a strong reputation for quality and reliability in CFM56 engine maintenance. Partnering with GATES supports MIAT's commitment to strong operational availability and ensures our engines return to service with performance levels that meet the highest standards."
The collaboration with MIAT not only highlights GATES' technical precision and operational reliability but also reinforces the growing trust airlines have in independent maintenance solutions. Avinash Singh, GATES’ Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, emphasized their dedication: "We are honored to support MIAT's CFM56-7B fleet. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality overhaul services that strengthen engine performance and safeguard operational readiness across MIAT's expanding network."
These developments show that GATES is swiftly establishing itself as a leading independent MRO provider in the global aviation industry. The combination of the AMO certification and the new contract with MIAT positions GATES as a trusted partner for airlines seeking effective and reliable engine maintenance solutions that meet stringent international standards.
