Cary B. Wood Appointed President and CEO of Altus Fire & Life Safety

Cary B. Wood comes to Altus boasting a wealth of experience, with over 30 years in executive roles across both private equity-backed and public companies. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Grede Holdings LLC., which operates as a leading manufacturer and supplier of ductile iron castings across North America.

His career at Grede began in 2019, but Cary is no stranger to the company, having held leadership roles from 2004 to 2008, including a stint as interim CEO of citation Corporation, Grede's predecessor. Under Cary's leadership, Grede has navigated significant structural changes and has continued to thrive in the competitive manufacturing sector. Moreover, he has an impressive background serving as the CEO of Sparton Corporation from 2008 to 2016, during which he drove strategic initiatives to enhance the company's market position.

Mr. Wood’s earlier professional journey includes foundational roles at industry giants like General Motors Corporation and United Technologies, showcasing a diverse career in engineering, operations, and general management. His educational background is equally noteworthy, with a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, a Master of Science from Lawrence Technological University, and an MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
