Deputy Minister Fujiwara Visits Okayama University



On June 24, 2025, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Akio Fujiwara, made a significant visit to Okayama University, located in Okayama City. His visit aimed to explore the university's notable research capabilities, specifically the Institute for Fundamental Science and the Co-creation Innovation Lab, known as KIBINOVE.

Upon arrival, Fujiwara began his tour at the Institute for Fundamental Science, where he was introduced to the state-of-the-art cryo-electron microscope by Professor Jin Kenjin. Professor Kenjin elaborated on the latest advancements and significant research outcomes produced using this advanced technology. President Yasu Tomo Nasu subsequently highlighted that such equipment is available for shared use, fostering collaboration and innovation among various disciplines. Fujiwara demonstrated a keen interest in the intricate research environment and the cutting-edge tools that support scientific exploration.

Following his visit to the Institute, Fujiwara moved on to KIBINOVE, where President Nasu personally guided him through the facilities.
