Sika Japan Launches Innovative Self-Adhesive PVC Waterproof Membrane for Construction

Sika Japan Introduces Game-Changing Waterproofing Solution

Sika Japan, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, has recently launched a pioneering product in the field of construction waterproofing: the self-adhesive PVC waterproof membrane titled Sarnafil® G 410-15 SA Feltback. As Japan's first self-adhesive membrane of its kind, this innovative solution promises to simplify the installation process while delivering superior durability and energy efficiency.

Streamlined Construction Process

One of the most compelling features of Sarnafil® G 410-15 SA Feltback is its user-friendly application method. The installation process is as easy as "peel, stick, press, and finish". This approach mitigates the need for complex adhesive application and drying time, thereby reducing labor requirements and facilitating quicker project completion.

Addressing Modern Waterproofing Challenges

The need for efficient waterproofing solutions has grown significantly, especially in the context of occupied residential buildings, operational factories, hospitals, schools, and other facilities. Contractors are now placing considerable emphasis on minimizing noise, vibration, and dust generation during installation, as well as reducing the risks of leaks during the waterproofing process. Sarnafil® G 410-15 SA Feltback meets these vital needs by offering a flexible method that can adapt to the specific conditions of each installation site.

Unmatched Performance and Energy Efficiency

Sarnafil® G 410-15 SA Feltback boasts a fully adhered structure that evenly distributes the forces exerted by the wind across the entire surface area. This technology provides a fixation strength that can be up to approximately 3.5 times greater than mechanical fastening methods, reaching a maximum of 30,000 N/m². Moreover, its high-reflective white finish ensures a solar reflectivity of over 90%, and when combined with insulation materials, can reduce roof surface temperatures by nearly 30°C.

Additionally, the product allows for upgrades to existing waterproof layers without needing complete removal, contributing to waste reduction and minimizing environmental impact during installation. For metal roof renovations, this membrane can reduce the added load on existing structures by approximately one-third compared to traditional metal cover methods, thus enhancing the longevity of buildings.
