Digital Hollywood University at the Tokyo Game Show 2025



Digital Hollywood University (DHU), an accredited private university located in Ochanomizu, Tokyo, is preparing to showcase six unique indie games at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2025. The event will be held at Makuhari Messe, featuring a dedicated turnkey booth for indie games. This exhibition is part of DHU's commitment to nurturing talent in the realms of digital content and communication.

The participation of DHU in TGS is a culmination of efforts that began in December 2024 when the university opened recruitment for student participants. Since then, a collaborative community has formed between the DHU administration and the students, pushing forward to develop their games, as well as enhancing the exhibition methods for their works. Students from various backgrounds and grades have come together, united by their common goal of exhibiting their games at one of the largest gaming events in the world.

Exhibit Details


The Tokyo Game Show 2025 is set to take place from September 25 to 28. The business days are scheduled for September 25 and 26, while the general public can attend on September 27 and 28. The opening hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM for business days and from 9:30 AM to 5 PM for general days (until 4:30 PM on the last day). Visitors are encouraged to come and experience the creativity and innovation shown by the students at the DHU booth.

Games on Display


The following six games will be exhibited:

1. Masq Mystique
- Genre: 3D Platformer
- Overview: This game lets players explore a mysterious, abandoned school as a cat named Mimo, tackling the themes of purity and decay against a distorted backdrop mirroring the 'Seven Virtues.' Players will encounter the hidden beauty and fragility of humanity while unraveling intriguing mysteries.

2. Clarion
- Genre: 3D Action
- Overview: Set in a lavish school, players navigate through the campus battling menacing creatures. The game's stunning graphics and unique gravity manipulation capabilities provide an engaging, stylish action experience.

3. Blue
- Genre: Action Adventure
- Overview: Players assume the role of a researcher tasked with capturing elusive sea creatures in the enigmatic waters of Nemo. As they confront unethical marine research practices from a company called Atlantis, they unearth deep mysteries and customize their own aquarium.

4. Planet of Tuna
- Genre: Survival Action Escape
- Overview: In this survival game, players aim to escape a facility under siege by mutated tuna with limbs and wings. They must collect items and utilize crafting elements to navigate the challenges posed by these bizarre adversaries.

5. BUMP OF CHICKEN
- Genre: 3D Roguelike
- Overview: This roguelike action game features vibrant visuals reminiscent of comics. Players choose from a variety of skills to strategize their way through randomly generated scenarios, battling cute bosses and experiencing unique combinations with each attempt.

6. Land Run
- Genre: Strategy Card Game
- Overview: A Western-themed card game where players advance cards to outmaneuver their opponents' territories. Strategic decision-making is key, whether by depleting the opponent's health or maximizing points from remaining cards at game end.

Message from DHU


According to the DHU operational group representative, Otoha Fujisawa, the university recognizes the challenges students face in team organization across different academic years. In response, the initiative for participation in TGS was born, aiming to foster a collaborative environment for game development and enhance interaction among students. The dedication and creativity displayed by these students throughout the planning process and game development leading up to the event deserve recognition.
