Celebration of Excellence: Guild Hall's 40th Academy Awards Dinner
Guild Hall, an iconic cultural institution located in the heart of East Hampton, is set to host the
40th Academy of the Arts Achievement Awards Dinner on April 27, 2026. This prestigious event will take place at the renowned Rainbow Room in New York City and promises to be a highlight in the celebration of the arts and media.
This year, the Academy is proud to honor two standout figures in journalism and media:
Carl Bernstein and
Katie Couric, both recipients of the coveted
Lifetime Achievement Award in Media and Communications. Their contributions have not only shaped the landscape of journalism but have also set a standard for integrity and accountability in a rapidly shifting cultural environment. Alongside them,
Leila Straus will be recognized with the
Special Award for Leadership and Philanthropy, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community through impactful leadership.
New Inductees
In addition to these awards, the evening will mark the induction of three new members into the Academy of the Arts:
Victor Garber,
Sarah Sze, and
Colson Whitehead. Each of these individuals has made significant contributions to arts and culture, further enriching the community and inspiring future generations.
An exciting feature of the event will be a special performance by the
Resistance Revival Chorus, renowned for their powerful messages of empowerment and unity through music. This aligns perfectly with Guild Hall's mission to celebrate creativity in all its forms.
A Heartfelt Tribute
Andrea Grover, the Executive Director of Guild Hall, expressed her sentiments on the occasion: “Guild Hall honors Katie Couric, Carl Bernstein, and Leila Straus for exemplifying and championing the core values of integrity, accountability, and public trust.” Grover emphasized the importance of these values amidst today's fast-evolving society and underscored the joy of welcoming the new inductees into the Academy.
