The Coalition for Metabolic Health is thrilled to announce that Dr. Maya Maroto has taken on the role of executive director. With over two decades of experience in the realms of nutrition, health policy, and public affairs, Dr. Maroto's expertise positions her well to make impactful changes in the field of metabolic health.
Dr. Maroto's Background
Dr. Maroto comes to the Coalition with an impressive background. She previously held the position of vice president at FoodMinds, where she was responsible for overseeing strategic initiatives related to nutrition and health policy. Furthermore, her experience at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture has provided her with a robust understanding of nutrition policy and communications at a national level.
As a registered dietitian and certified ketogenic nutrition specialist, Dr. Maroto has demonstrated a commitment to advancing metabolic health. She earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Morgan State University, a master’s degree in public health nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and food science from Auburn University.
