FamilyMart Introduces a New Line of Chilled Noodles Featuring Famous Shops from Japan

FamilyMart, a prominent convenience store chain in Japan, is set to delight noodle lovers with its new line of chilled noodles, scheduled to be released across approximately 16,400 locations nationwide from May 12, 2026. This initiative marks a significant milestone as the company approaches its 45th anniversary in September 2026. The products reflect FamilyMart's commitment to culinary excellence, encapsulated in their motto, "Ichiban Challenge", which aims to provide customers with the best possible experience.

The Emergence of Mazesoba: A Culinary Trend



This summer, FamilyMart is embracing the popular trend of “mazesoba,” or mixed noodles, allowing customers to customize their meals according to their preferences. Recognized for being portable and retaining their texture, mazesoba have become a staple choice for many. This new chilled noodle lineup will include several unique offerings developed in partnership with renowned noodle shops known for their authentic flavors and creative flair.

Varied Offerings Launching This May



The release will kick off on May 12 with two exciting dishes. The Hakata Ippudo's Chilled Akamaru Tonkotsu Mazesoba features a rich pork bone broth as its base, expertly balanced with red miso for a robust umami flavor, garnished with chashu pork, mushrooms, green onions, and spicy takana. Price: 554 yen (tax inclusive: 598 yen).

The second offering is Kagawa Ippuku's Chilled Mentaiko Cream Udon, which pairs chewy udon noodles with a creamy, flavorful mentaiko sauce, topped with seaweed. Price: 510 yen (tax inclusive: 550 yen).

On May 19, the second wave will introduce Suzukinya's Chilled Stamina Mazesoba, a dish that incorporates a flavorful soy sauce-based broth and a generous dose of garlic, perfect for those seeking a fulfilling meal. Price: 647 yen (tax inclusive: 698 yen).

Additionally, Menya Kokoro's Chilled Taiwanese Style Mazesoba will wow customers with its rich flavors from minced pork and garlic. Price: 510 yen (tax inclusive: 550 yen).

Revamped Seasonal Classics



FamilyMart is also refreshing its classic chilled noodles this summer. The Chilled Soba has been reformulated to enhance its texture and flavor, thanks to improved buckwheat flour and a meticulous broth-making process. The Chilled Tanuki Udon, Chilled Bukkake Udon, and Three Ingredients Chilled Udon receive a texture upgrade with new flour blends ensuring a smooth, satisfying experience.

Chilled Chinese Noodles, featuring fresh, artisanal noodles, will be complemented by a lovingly crafted sesame and vinegar sauce that captures the essence of summer.
