Renewable Power Accelerator Unveils Innovative Rebranding Strategy for Future of Electric Heavy-Duty Transport in Europe

Renewable Power Accelerator Transitions to RPX

A New Chapter in Sustainable Energy

On April 10, 2026, Solar Power Accelerator (SPA), a key player in the renewable energy sector, officially rebranded as Renewable Power Accelerator (RPX). This strategic move not only alters its name but also refines its mission to enhance the electrification of heavy-duty transportation in Europe through innovative offerings, particularly in renewable energy and artificial intelligence (AI).

Founded in early 2023, SPA initially concentrated on expanding solar installations in commercial and industrial rooftops across Sweden. This initiative allowed property owners to profit from excess electricity through power purchase agreements (PPAs). However, the company recognized evolving market conditions and a decrease in demand in its original segment. Consequently, a strategic pivot towards electric mobility was initiated at the end of 2024.

Renewing Focus Towards Electric Heavy-Duty Transportation

RPX is at the forefront of harnessing renewable energy—primarily solar and wind—to power the charging infrastructure for electric heavy-duty trucks (eHDT). By prioritizing essential transport corridors, logistics depots, and cargo terminals throughout Europe, RPX aims to alleviate the transportation and logistics sector's significant carbon footprint, which presently accounts for over 25% of the EU's emissions.

Forecasts predicted that the eHDT market would grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 10% through 2035. The urgency to transition towards electrified freight transport is also evident amidst increasing regulatory pressures and the expectation that total ownership costs will favor electric trucks by 2027.

RPX's integrated offerings ensure that charging stations are powered entirely by renewable energy via onsite microgrids, battery storage systems, and load balancing, supplemented by locally contracted PPAs with major energy distributors across Europe.

Expanding Customer Solutions

As part of its transformation, RPX is enhancing its value proposition for customers with two vital offerings:
1. Automated AI Software: An integrated fleet management application featuring route planning, energy pricing control, advanced driver assistance systems, and renewable energy certification. This tool is designed with user interfaces for drivers, charging point operators, and external logistics providers.

2. Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): A rental model tailored for end-users developed alongside leading truck manufacturers to achieve total cost of ownership parity with diesel trucks.

Pär-Olof Johannesson, co-founder and CEO of RPX, stated, “The integration of AI-driven software infrastructure reinforces our leadership position, enhancing our ability to drive the renewable energy transition and expand eHDT technology in Europe.” His co-founder, William Granelli, further emphasized the paradigm shift towards renewable logistics, highlighting how macroeconomic and geopolitical events have underscored the risks of reliance on fossil fuels while accelerating the need for resilient local renewable energy systems.

Future Prospects and Developments

Currently, RPX is developing projects in the Nordic region, the UK, Spain, and Poland, while actively seeking funding to support their expansion plans. Investors interested in equity participation or convertible bond subscriptions can find more information at rpx.se.

The name change was formally approved during an extraordinary general meeting held by Solar Power Accelerator AB on the same date. RPX stands strategically at the intersection of transport electrification, renewable energy generation, storage solutions, and cutting-edge software. This convergence presents a multibillion-euro market opportunity driven by EU regulatory mandates, corporate decarbonization efforts, and technological advancements.
