nokNok and KOKUYO Collaborate to Open New Doors to Tea Culture

A New Gateway to the World of Tea

In an exciting partnership aimed at introducing a fresh perspective on tea culture, nokNok Inc., based in Suginami, Tokyo, has teamed up with KOKUYO's in-house design collective, YOHAK DESIGN STUDIO. Together, they are set to unveil their new series called 'nokNok OCHA / Door' on May 28, 2026. This collaboration promises to open new doors into the world of tea through innovative, experiential products.

The series showcases three unique OCHA KITS designed to inspire enthusiasts to brew and enjoy tea in a hands-on, engaging manner. On the same day as the product launch, a pop-up event will take place at the THINK OF THINGS shop & café, curated by YOHAK DESIGN STUDIO, where visitors can experience the essence of these new kits.

Series Concept: 'nokNok OCHA / Door'

At the heart of this collaboration lies a vision: “Moments that touch the heart in everyday life.” The aim is to create a new entry point into Japanese tea culture, encouraging consumers to explore and enjoy the brewing process. By stimulating a sense of curiosity and engagement, both nokNok and THINK OF THINGS hope to redefine the way people approach their daily tea-drinking routine, adding depth and comfort to their lifestyles.

Product Lineup (Three Varieties)

Each OCHA KIT is designed to allow consumers to taste and compare teas from five distinct growing regions in Japan, showcasing the artistry and dedication of tea farmers. Each kit comes at a price of 1,480 yen, tax inclusive.

OCHA KIT 01: Tasting Tea High and Low

Contents: A comparison set featuring sencha from varying terrains and altitudes.
Features: This kit presents five types of sencha cultivated in differing environments, from hillside (Nihondaira) to foot of the mountains (Uzumasa). By highlighting the variations in aroma and flavor brought about by these diverse natural conditions, this kit serves as a gateway to understanding the richness of tea.

OCHA KIT 02: Yabukita Roulette

Contents: A comparison set of the renowned 'Yabukita' varietal from different tea-producing regions and growers.
Features: Curated exclusively from five different regions, this kit explores the distinctive personalities of 'Yabukita' teas. Despite being the same varietal, subtle flavor shifts depending on the terroir and the grower enable users to appreciate the uniqueness of each tea in an engaging, game-like format.

OCHA KIT 03: Oshi-Cha Collection

Contents: A tasting set featuring flagship teas from five dedicated tea farmers.
Features: By selecting exemplary teas from both emerging young talents and seasoned veterans, this kit offers a diverse array of flavors. Participants can find their own personal ‘oshi-cha’ (favorite tea) and connect with a particular farmer's philosophy, resulting in a deeper tea appreciation.
