Zūm to Host Hiring Events for School Bus Drivers in Palm Springs

Zūm, a leader in modern student transportation, is set to host hiring events designed to attract both existing and new school bus drivers and attendants. Scheduled for April 2nd and 3rd, 2025, these events will take place at the Courtyard Marriott in Palm Springs, California, offering a golden opportunity for those interested in starting a fulfilling career in student transportation.

The events run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT each day and promise an engaging atmosphere for potential applicants. Attendees will have the chance to tour a Zūm school bus and enjoy a technology demonstration. This initiative comes on the heels of Zūm being awarded a significant five-year contract by the Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) for the 2025-26 school year.

Zūm is actively looking to fill over 75 certified school bus driver positions, 8 van driver roles that do not require a commercial driver's license (CDL), and 24 attendant positions. Current certified drivers and attendants are encouraged to participate, along with anyone contemplating a career shift into this rewarding field. For those lacking certification, Zūm will cover the training and certification costs, making this an even more accessible opportunity.

One of the highlights of the program is the competitive wages and guaranteed hours that Zūm offers to its employees. Additionally, the company provides modern benefits to all drivers, attendants, and support staff, ensuring their commitment doesn't end with compensation. The usage of state-of-the-art buses and technology is designed to enhance the safety and comfort of both students and drivers alike.

Zūm’s dedication to training is evident in their comprehensive programs that include specialized training for transporting students with diverse needs and disabilities. This is particularly commendable in today’s educational landscape, where inclusivity in transportation is paramount.

In a statement about the hiring events, PSUSD Superintendent Dr. Tony Signoret expressed optimism about the partnership with Zūm, emphasizing the mutual benefits for drivers, attendants, and students. He stated, "Our partnership with Zūm will provide drivers and attendants with comprehensive training, competitive wages, and new equipment and technology designed to make their jobs easier and more enjoyable."

Ritu Narayan, Founder and CEO of Zūm, added, "At Zūm, we value our drivers and take great pride in our status as a choice employer in the communities where we operate. We are thrilled to expand our team of professional bus drivers in Palm Springs and look forward to meeting potential candidates at our upcoming hiring fair."
