ELEC 70th Anniversary Online Seminar
As part of its 70th anniversary celebrations in 2026, the English Language Education Council (ELEC), located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is proud to announce a free online seminar led by acclaimed author and former English teacher Tatsuya Kimura. Scheduled to take place on July 5, 2026, from 14:00 to 15:40 JST, this seminar will delve into the theme of "Effective English Instruction for Fostering Future Success in Children."
Seminar Overview
During the seminar, Mr. Kimura will share insights not only about practical teaching methods but also explore the broader questions of why children should learn English and what educators should aim to teach through the language. With a wealth of experience from his 33 years at prestigious schools like Nishiyamato Gakuen and Nada High School, Mr. Kimura has transformed English education for countless students. His works, including more than 90 publications, feature educational resources, children's books, essays, and novels, making him a versatile figure in the field of language education.

About the Presenter
Tatsuya Kimura, born in 1964 and a graduate of Kwansei Gakuin University, has significantly impacted English instruction through his creative approach and dedication to teaching. In addition to his work as a writer, he actively conducts workshops and lectures across Japan, contributing significantly to professional development for English educators. His publications include essential resources like “New Yume-tan,” “Tokyo University English Listening,” and “How to Eliminate Children’s Aversion to English.”
