AM General's Innovations for Military Mobility at DSEI 2025
At the upcoming Defence Security and Equipment International (DSEI) tradeshow from September 09 to 12, 2025, AM General, a global leader in military mobility solutions, will introduce groundbreaking vehicles including the HUMVEE Saber and the next-generation Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV A2). This presentation aims to highlight AM General’s continued innovation and commitment to enhancing military readiness through advanced mobility solutions.
Located at booth S4-310 in the U.S. Pavilion at the ExCel London Exhibition Centre, the showcase comes at a pivotal time as AM General prepares to select a partnership with a prominent UK defense contractor in anticipation of the Ministry of Defence’s Land Mobility Programme (LMP) proposal. The exhibition is more than just a display of vehicles; it reflects AM General’s strategic commitment to bolstering UK defense capabilities and operational safety for its troops.
Enhancements in JLTV A2
The JLTV A2 has undergone significant improvements compared to its predecessor, boasting over 200 updates that enhance performance, safety, and sustainability. These refinements range from better corrosion protection to advanced noise reduction, making it a quieter and more manageable vehicle for operators in the field. The vehicle’s electrical architecture has also been simplified, allowing for easier access and maintenance, which is crucial for military applications.
The Saber Vehicle
In addition to the JLTV A2, AM General will also introduce the Saber, a light tactical vehicle designed on the durable HUMVEE framework. What sets the Saber apart is its ability to deliver similar levels of protection as larger military vehicles while maintaining a compact footprint. The patented cab design offers impressive 360-degree kinetic energy threat protection and improved ride quality, ensuring that military personnel can navigate various terrains with confidence.
Commitment to Defense Needs
Jim Cannon, President and CEO of AM General, expressed enthusiasm about participating in DSEI 2025. “We are extremely excited to attend DSEI this year as we announce our intent to participate in the UK's LMP solicitation. This is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our robust mobility portfolio and demonstrate how AM General can meet the defense needs of the UK,” he stated.
Cannon emphasized the importance of long-term partnerships, aiming to align AM General’s capabilities with UK defense priorities through their operational and industrial collaboration. The commitment to enhancing operational safety reflects AM General’s understanding of the changing landscape in military requirements and the importance of innovative mobility solutions.
Future Demonstrations
Both the JLTV A2 and the Saber, alongside the existing HUMVEE trucks, will be demonstrated to the UK Ministry of Defence in October 2025, promises another opportunity for AM General to showcase the capabilities of their advanced military vehicle lineup. The demonstrations are expected to solidify the case for AM General’s products as essential components of the UK’s defense strategy.
