Exciting 'PAINT ON ICE' Event in Tokyo
On June 1, 2025, the bustling city of Tokyo will witness the inaugural "PAINT ON ICE" event, spearheaded by Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Nippon Home Products. This unique event will take place at the Edogawa Sportsland ice rink, which is anticipated to transform into a vivid canvas as community members paint freely on the ice.
This initiative is part of the company’s CSR activity, "HAPPY PAINT PROJECT," aimed at promoting community spirit and environmental consciousness. Nippon Paint will lend its expertise and resources to ensure a smooth artistic experience for participants.
What to Expect at PAINT ON ICE?
"PAINT ON ICE" is an artistic extravaganza where ice skating enthusiasts and novice painters alike can leave their creative mark on the rink. This event mirrors similar successful initiatives witnessed internationally, particularly in National Hockey League (NHL) venues, but marks its first-ever occurrence in the capital of Japan. Previously recognized in regions like Aichi and Hokkaido, this event promises to usher in a wave of creativity in Tokyo following the end of the skating season.
The purpose of the event is to allow local residents to engage with a skating rink—usually a limited-access venue—by providing an opportunity to paint and enjoy the art of ice. Utilizing environmentally friendly paints—including upcycled materials—participants will be encouraged to explore the fascinating intersection of ice, art, and community interaction.
Alongside the painting session, attendees can look forward to a special ice skating class led by former Olympian Ikue Teishikawara and an exhibition showcasing dynamic skating performances. It’s a day of creativity, learning, and fun that promises memories for everyone involved.
