R&R and Synergy Global Join Forces for Innovative Smartphone Repair Services

A New Chapter in Smartphone Repair Services

R&R Co., Ltd., based in Tokyo, has teamed up with Osaka's Synergy Global Co., Ltd. to innovate the smartphone repair sector. The partnership aims to enhance consumer experience through the introduction of an online repair request service via R&R's management app, monomane. This service will begin on January 12, 2026, first launching in nine SmartCool stores located in the Kanto region before expanding to approximately 80 locations nationwide by February 2026.

Background and Objectives of the Partnership

The recent rise in discussions surrounding the “Right to Repair” in Japan has highlighted the need for consumers to easily access repair services. R&R was established with the aim of increasing the convenience and transparency of repairs. By providing a platform that connects the management of personal items with repair services, R&R seeks to foster a circular economy through greater accessibility to repair options. On the other hand, Synergy Global excels at delivering high-quality and prompt repair services across its SmartCool store network. By combining their strengths, the two companies are committed to offering a comfortable and reliable repair experience for users.

Overview of Services and Value Proposition

Online Repair Request

Users of the monomane app can request repairs for their smartphones and other devices, gaining access to vital information such as cost, repair options, and estimated time needed, all through an online platform. This feature allows users to place their requests with confidence since they can verify all details in advance.

Online Payment

Customers will enjoy the convenience of settling their repair costs entirely online through monomane after the repair is completed. There is no need to carry cash, allowing for a seamless, one-stop service from repair request to payment.

Devices Supported

Thanks to the collaboration with Synergy Global, monomane now supports repairs for a wide range of products, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, and wearable devices such as smartwatches. However, it's important to note that certain manufacturers and warranty periods might restrict service availability.
