Randy Seitz Takes Charge as Executive Director of KEDC

In a significant step for economic growth in Kilgore, Texas, the Kilgore Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) has announced the appointment of Randy Seitz as its new Executive Director. This decision follows a thorough national search conducted by the KEDC Board of Directors and the Search Committee. Seitz’s extensive background in economic development is anticipated to steer the corporation into a new era of growth and innovation.

Seitz, who holds an MBA, is no stranger to leading transformative initiatives. He brings over 30 years of expertise in economic development, specializing in business recruitment, workforce development, and forming public-private partnerships. His experience extends to various leadership roles across Texas and Pennsylvania, where he has been instrumental in driving substantial investments, creating job opportunities, and fostering infrastructure improvements.

Most recently, he served as President and CEO of the Bee Area Partnership in Bee County, Texas. Under his leadership, the organization facilitated a remarkable capital investment of over $153 million, resulting in the creation of approximately 1,400 jobs. This involved not only direct business recruitment but also enhancing broadband infrastructure and developing strategic workforce partnerships.

Before his tenure in Texas, Seitz played a vital role as the President and CEO of the Penn-Northwest Development Corporation in Pennsylvania. During this time, he successfully attracted significant investments, supported local business expansions, and strengthened the financial position of the corporation. His previous leadership with the Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry & Tourism further underscores his capability to spearhead economic development initiatives.

Alan Pollard, Chair of the KEDC Board of Directors, expressed confidence in Seitz's abilities stating, "Randy distinguished himself throughout the search process as a proven economic development leader with an exceptional record of delivering results while building strong relationships with stakeholders." Kilgore has been strategically positioned as a manufacturing hub, benefiting from its location along the I-20 corridor, which connects Dallas and Shreveport. This accessibility enhances its appeal to major manufacturers and distributors. Synergy Park, a Class-A business campus situated in Kilgore, already hosts well-known companies like Camfil USA, KeepRite Refrigeration, and Orgill. With over 23% of the area's workforce engaged in the goods-producing sector, the potential for economic expansion is significant.

As Executive Director, Seitz is set to play a crucial role in guiding KEDC’s strategic direction and operational management. His responsibilities will also involve spearheading initiatives for business recruitment, retention, and expansion. Collaborative efforts with regional partners and stakeholders will be imperative for advancing economic growth and workforce development.

Equipped with a Master of Business Administration from PennWest University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from D'Youville College, Seitz is also an active member of both the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC). His academic and professional credentials, combined with active civic involvement, position him well to lead the KEDC towards a future of continued success and sustainability.
