The primary changes to SemiMarket focus on how it publishes and organizes parts that have been harvested from old equipment. By establishing Special Event sections, users can now easily navigate harvested inventories according to the specific “parent” tool that they originate from. This tool-based categorization mirrors the structures often used in fabs for maintenance planning and spare parts management, providing buyers with a more intuitive browsing experience.

One major feature is the new bulk download option that allows procurement teams and engineers to request lists of items categorized under high-level sections. This tool streamlines the process of comparing various options and allows for easy documentation of sourcing decisions. SurplusGLOBAL's aim is to bridge the gap between market exploration and internal procurement processes, offering a more cohesive workflow for those tasked with keeping operations running smoothly.

As semiconductor production becomes increasingly complex, especially in mature-node fabs, the scarcity of single discontinued spare parts can result in significant downtime. The recent attendance at SEMICON KOREA 2026, where approximately 3,000 industry professionals visited SurplusGLOBAL's booth, underscores the rising engagement with SemiMarket. The surge in interest was evident with over 800 on-site registrations, particularly from engineers involved in process and maintenance as well as representatives from global equipment companies.

Bruce Kim, CEO of SurplusGLOBAL, emphasized that these updates are a direct response to the demand for more accessible inventory and quicker decision-making processes in a market where operational uptime and supply variability are critical. In addition to the online enhancements, SurplusGLOBAL is set to open a 39,670 square meter (12,000 pyeong) SemiMarket Offline Parts Mall by July, creating a physical space for customers to inspect large inventories. This initiative will also offer services such as parts verification and repair, strengthening the company's global support capabilities for maintaining legacy tools.
