Puyo Puyo Championship 2025: Representatives Revealed
The anticipation is building for the "2025 Nationwide E-Sports Championship in Shiga," specifically for the Puyo Puyo section. SEGA has officially announced the representatives who will join the main tournament in Shiga, which is set to take place on November 22nd and 23rd.
This championship aims to crown the best Puyo Puyo players in Japan. Participants are divided into eight blocks, and online block representative qualifying rounds were held over the weekend of August 30th and 31st. Each block’s top players emerge to compete in the Shiga Finals.

Score Attack Campaign
The excitement continues as the tournament also announced a Score Attack campaign within the Puyo Puyo section. Players can enter this challenge by registering their scores from the "Challenge" mode in Puyo Puyo eSports. With a two-minute time limit, participants compete to achieve the highest score by clearing Puyos.
Each block will grant one representative a spot in the Shiga Finals, along with ten lucky participants who will win Puyo Puyo merchandise through a lottery.

Puyo Puyo: A Beloved Classic
Puyo Puyo is a beloved action puzzle game that has charmed fans since its debut 30 years ago, with the first game launched in 1991 on MSX2 and Famicom Disk System. Its easy-to-understand gameplay, adorable characters, and introduction of competitive play as an action puzzle format have helped it find lasting success across various platforms.
In March 2018, Puyo Puyo entered the eSports arena as a title recognized by JeSU (Japan eSports Union), paving the way for professional players and further expanding its competitive scene.
