Innovations in Infrared Imaging at SENSOR+TEST 2026
Raytron Microelectronics is setting a new standard in the field of industrial technology with its advanced infrared (IR) imaging modules showcased at the SENSOR+TEST 2026 trade show held from June 9 to 11 in Nuremberg, Germany. With a dedicated booth (Hall 1, Stand 1-616), the company aims to assist original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system integrators in effectively integrating thermal imaging, short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging, and optical gas imaging technologies into their automation, predictive maintenance, and intelligent inspection systems.
Overcoming SWaP-C Challenges
One of the persistent challenges facing OEMs developing thermal cameras is the Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) constraints. Raytron addresses this with its ultra-compact thermal imaging modules, particularly the TC2-C series, which is a miniature thermal imaging module boasting dimensions of just 13.2 × 13.2 × 8.7 mm and weighing only 2.5 grams. The availability of MIPI, DVP, and USB interfaces allows for seamless integration into printed circuit board (PCB) test systems and handheld devices.
Industrial Inspections Made Easy
For larger-scale industrial inspections, Raytron's SE5 1280 series offers outstanding imaging performance with an impressive 1280 × 1024 detector, all contained within a compact 29 × 29 mm housing. Utilizing a self-developed second-generation ISP chip and featuring shutterless technology, this module can deliver smooth thermal imaging at 50 Hz, making it ideal for drone-based inspections of utility lines, photovoltaic plant monitoring, and infrastructure assessments.
Beyond Heat: The Capabilities of Infrared
To truly revolutionize industrial intelligence, Raytron is expanding the inspection capabilities of its thermal imaging modules beyond long-wave infrared. For automated sorting lines, the NS-615AS-10GE SWIR camera boasts high-speed performance over 10GigE with an industry-leading 825 Hz operation. By defining the spectral wavelength, this camera deciphers the chemical signatures of clear plastics (PP, PE, PET, PVC), transforming traditional chaotic recycling sorting into an efficient scientific process within milliseconds. Meanwhile, the cooled OGI module, Photon C330H, achieves a high-sensitive NETD of ≤12 mK in its 460-gram package, enabling the detection of invisible methane and volatile gas leaks, thereby ensuring immediate compliance with environmental regulations.
Accelerating Time to Market for OEMs
Raytron Microelectronics emphasizes its role as a long-term technology partner, rather than just a hardware provider. At SENSOR+TEST 2026, the company highlighted its commitment to supporting OEMs with open SDKs, versatile lens options, and dual-light solutions to accelerate development processes and shorten time to market.
