Potomac Bank Welcomes Tim C. Valentine as Vice President and SBA Lending Officer
Potomac Bank is excited to announce the recent appointment of Tim C. Valentine as Vice President and SBA Lending Officer. This strategic move aims to enhance the bank’s commitment to serving small business owners in the Northern Virginia area. Mr. Valentine will focus on building solid relationships with local entrepreneurs and leaders, particularly those interested in Small Business Administration (SBA) guaranteed loans.
Located at 44790 Maynard Square, Suite 200, Ashburn, VA, Mr. Valentine brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as an SBA Relationship Manager with National Capital Bank. Throughout his career, he has also held significant positions, including SBA/Business Banking Portfolio Manager at John Marshall Bank and Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager at Presidential Bank. His background as a Credit Analyst at Aerotek further solidifies his expertise in banking and finance, which will be invaluable for Potomac Bank’s SBA department.
According to Raymond Goodrich, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer at Potomac Bank, “Tim is a welcome addition to our team. His experience and understanding of the local market will be pivotal in expanding our SBA portfolio and aligning with our team-oriented culture.”
Mr. Valentine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Finance from Moravian University, where he was not only an academic major but also served as captain and a four-year starter for the football team. His leadership qualities extend beyond academics and sports; he actively participates in community service, which mirrors Potomac Bank's core value of community focus.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Everyone Home DC, a nonprofit organization committed to providing affordable housing for at-risk families and individuals. Moreover, he coaches cornerbacks for the Loudoun Sports Academy’s National Football Team, and he volunteers with organizations like the Essences of Coaching Foundation and She Is Athlete. His coaching tenure includes leading the GORC Wildcats to victory in the 12U championship in 2015, showcasing his commitment to youth development and mentorship.
Residing in Arlington County, Virginia, Mr. Valentine enjoys engaging in various community activities, including providing temporary coaching support for high school football camps and personal training for athletes across different age groups. In an effort to diversify his interests, he has recently taken up fishing and golf, seeking to unwind in his spare time.
