The Storyline

Set in the tumultuous Bakumatsu period, 'Nagaame to Garan' follows the intertwined fates of two men, each harboring their own deep-seated convictions and ambitions.

Kouichirou Kamiya is a member of the Shinsengumi, tasked with eliminating rebel forces in Kyoto. Although he projects the image of a dedicated officer, he is, in truth, a spy sent by the charismatic revolutionary Ryoma Sakamoto, aiming to infiltrate and serve the Choshu clan, hoping to impact the nation’s fate.

On the other hand, Seinosuke Kanetsuki, a Choshu samurai, aids pro-imperialist revolutionaries while disguising his true identity as an agent for the Shinsengumi. Consumed by the desire for revenge against those responsible for his friend's wrongful execution, he wishes for the downfall of the Choshu clan.

Despite their opposing motivations, both men must undertake a perilous mission: to covertly gather intelligence within enemy territory and thwart any threats to their cover. The stakes could not be higher in this era of upheaval where the consequences of their actions could seal their fates.
