The 2026 Palladium Global Science Award: A Call for Innovative Uses of Palladium

The 2026 Palladium Global Science Award (PGSA) has officially announced the opening of applications for its second annual international scientific competition, which focuses on innovative applications of palladium. With a prize fund totaling $350,000, this award aims to foster groundbreaking research and technological advancements involving this remarkable metal.

Running from March 2nd to July 31st, 2026, the competition invites scientists, researchers, engineers, startups, and R&D teams worldwide to submit their proposals at palladiumaward.com. The PGSA was established in 2025 as a global platform to seek out and support technological breakthroughs that harness the unique properties of palladium, a metal known for its exceptional catalytic activity, hydrogen absorption capabilities, resistance to oxidation, high electrical conductivity, and magnetic susceptibility.

The award will recognize five laureates across three categories: Best Scientific Development, Best Scientific Article, and Best Applied Concept. Entries will be evaluated by an international advisory board composed of leading scientists and experts from prestigious universities and research centers around the globe. The general partner of this contest is the China Precious Metals Industry Committee.

Professor Francis Verpoort, the chair of the international advisory council for the PGSA, expressed the significance of launching this year's competition during a time when the world increasingly relies on innovative technologies.
