A Historic Milestone for Globis Graduate School's MBA Program
On September 7th, 2023, the Globis Graduate School of Management, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, held the entrance ceremony for its English MBA program for the academic year 2025. This year, the program achieved a remarkable milestone, enrolling 141 students from 39 different countries and regions, making it the most diverse cohort in the history of the school.
Diverse Enrollment and Programs
The intake consists of students from various backgrounds, including 83 students in the part-time & online MBA program hailing from 29 different places, and 58 full-time students from 22 countries, illustrating a significant increase in international participation. Particularly noteworthy is the rise in students from regions with established overseas branches, such as Europe, the Philippines, Thailand, and the United States. Additionally, growth is noted from new demographics such as Indonesia, showcasing the program's expanding global reach.
Yoshito Hori, the president of Globis, addressed the new students with an inspiring speech, urging them to pursue their personal missions through the curriculum. He emphasized that understanding the meaning of life and setting aspirations are crucial for overcoming any challenges they may face. This message resonated with many in attendance, highlighting the university's commitment to fostering resilience and ambition within its students.
Student Voices
Three representatives from the incoming class shared their thoughts and goals during the ceremony, reflecting a shared vision of community and collaboration.
Cameron Gibson, an American student in the full-time MBA program, expressed his ambition to create a joyful and understanding environment at Globis, inviting his peers to join him in fostering openness and mutual growth during their year together.
From Japan,
Shozo Okumura, who is enrolled in the part-time and online MBA, highlighted the importance of acquiring business skills in an era of rapid technological advancement and change. He noted that true value creation lies not in technology itself but in how it is utilized within a business context, emphasizing the necessity for critical thinking and practical experience.
Hinza Asif from Pakistan further elaborated on the values he hopes to gain from the program. He described the journey ahead as one filled with rigorous coursework and intense discussions, aimed not just at academic excellence but at cultivating leadership qualities such as courage, creativity, and integrity.

The diversity of the incoming class is impressive, comprising students from various countries across continents. For part-time and online MBA students, the represented nations include Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, and many others, while the full-time program features students from countries like Bangladesh, France, Ghana, and Zimbabwe among others.
