Introducing 'Age-Well HAMAMATSU' Event
On October 13, 2025, Hamamatsu City will host its first multi-generational exchange event named 'Age-Well HAMAMATSU'. Organized by AgeWellJapan, Shizuoka Shimbun, and Shizuoka Broadcasting Corporation, the event aims to celebrate and promote healthy longevity in one of Japan's leading cities in life expectancy.
Purpose of the Event
The event embraces the notion of fostering a community where individuals of all ages—from children to seniors—can come together to enjoy, learn, and inspire one another. Supported by local resources, participants will experience a wide range of activities related to music, food, and health, thereby promoting positive aging and discovering new interests.
The 'Age-Well' Philosophy
Central to the event is the 'Age-Well' concept, which promotes positive aging through challenges and discoveries. It encourages individuals to embrace the changes that come with age, recognize their evolving selves, and brave into new pursuits. Individuals termed as 'Age-Well Designers' will help guide others in this journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
Featured Programs
The event will feature a variety of exciting programs, including:
- - Special Talk Session: A dialogue between Yasuto Suzuki, Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture, and Enka Akagi, CEO of AgeWellJapan.
- - Performances: Dance performances by senior dance teams (FIDA JAPAN), a Taisho Koto and mandolin performance (SBS Academy), a jewelry runway (Amulet Co.), and a wellness exercise session (Chan Mika).
- - Live Music: Local instrument manufacturers will provide music entertainment, along with special performances by Saya Asakura and the band 'Half Way'.
Participants can expect some program changes and additions as the event date approaches.
