Japan Energy Agency to Showcase Innovations at IVS2025 KYOTO Conference

Japan Energy Agency Announces Participation in IVS2025 KYOTO

The Japan Energy Agency (JEA), headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo and led by CEO Katsumi Inokuma, has officially announced its participation in the upcoming IVS2025 KYOTO, one of the nation's largest startup conferences scheduled to take place from July 2 to July 4, 2025. The event will be held at the Miyakomesse (Kyoto International Conference Center) and the ROHM Theatre Kyoto.

The agency is focused on promoting the adoption of renewable energy and developing Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) models, alongside running media operations. By taking part in the IVS2025 KYOTO, JEA aims to foster connections with startups and investors that could catalyze new business partnerships and expand funding opportunities, thereby accelerating renewable energy initiatives.

Emphasizing Co-Creation Through Diverse Stakeholder Dialogues

In line with its commitment to expanding renewable energy through the PPA model—where third parties assume installation costs while companies purchase electricity—the Japan Energy Agency will actively engage at IVS2025 KYOTO, beyond mere exhibition and explanation of its services. Their focus will be on achieving the following key goals:

Discovering New Funding Partners

JEA plans to have discussions with venture capitalists, private equity funds, and impact investors during the conference to explore funding models tailored to renewable energy projects.

Exploring Business Partnerships

The agency intends to exchange ideas with startups involved in energy storage solutions, next-generation grid management, as well as AI and IoT platforms. Initiatives such as trial projects and joint proof-of-concept experiments are in the pipeline.

Expanding Media Operations

Utilizing its energy-focused media platforms, the Japan Energy Agency aims to attract IVS participants and new content partners, thereby creating a cross-industry information dissemination network.

Comments from CEO Katsumi Inokuma

"IVS2025 KYOTO serves as a unique platform for startups, investors, and businesses to converge and exchange ideas that could lead to innovation.
