With quick access from Tokyo via the shinkansen taking about 90 minutes to Sendai followed by a 40-minute trip to Matsushima, it is a highly accessible region filled with history, nature, and food delights.

Sendai Great Kannon

Located in the suburbs of Sendai, this gigantic Kannon statue stands 100 meters high, claiming the title of the tallest in Japan.
