Beach Cleanup and Free Frescoball Experience
The Hiroshima Frescoball Club, recognized by the Japan Frescoball Association (JFBA), is set to host an exciting event titled "Beach Cleanup & Free Frescoball Experience" on November 29, 2025. This initiative is part of the Hiroshima Bay Satoumi Network Project, aimed at fostering community engagement and environmental preservation in the Hiroshima Bay area.
Background of the Event
The Hiroshima Bay Satoumi Network is a collaborative effort focused on improving the area's environment while encouraging interaction among residents and visitors alike. Since its inception in 2020, the project has championed the motto, "A bountiful Hiroshima Bay for the next generation," emphasizing the importance of nurturing a harmonious ecosystem that encompasses forests, rural areas, rivers, and the sea.
In alignment with this mission, the Hiroshima Frescoball Club has taken on several key objectives:
1. To raise awareness about the global waste crisis and encourage individuals to reflect on their actions and their environmental impact.
2. To allow participants to experience the sport of frescoball—known for its cooperative nature—while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Hiroshima Bay.
Goals of the Hiroshima Bay Restoration Action Plan
The initiative sets specific objectives to:
- - Create a rich coastal area that nurtures diverse marine life.
- - Develop vibrant waterfront spaces that facilitate social interaction and offer relaxation.
The JFBA has also introduced a new support membership program, "CLUB FRESCOBALL STYLE," which launched in 2022 with a focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For an organization like ours, which actively engages with beach sports, protecting oceanic wealth is paramount. We aim to inspire people to think about the treasures of the sea by promoting frescoball, thus turning this event into an opportunity for reflection and enjoyment.

What is Frescoball?
Frescoball, which originated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a beach sport that emphasizes cooperation over competition. Created in 1945 at Copacabana Beach, it has since gained popularity around the world. The sport is characterized by a unique scoring structure that encourages two players to sustain a rally rather than compete against one another. Matches last for five minutes, during which players maintain a distance of 7 meters.
Due to its cooperative gameplay, frescoball is often referred to as a "sport of empathy." This event provides the perfect platform to immerse oneself in this unique sporting culture while making a positive impact on the environment.
Join us in supporting a cleaner ocean while discovering the joy of frescoball! We look forward to seeing many participants come together for this meaningful cause.
