Envision's Groundbreaking Innovations at Intersolar Europe 2026
On June 24, 2026, Envision made a significant splash at Intersolar Europe 2026 by presenting its cutting-edge integrated energy systems, showcasing how these innovative solutions collaborate, store, and manage energy across various applications. The presentation highlighted a system designed to meet the demands of artificial intelligence (AI), industrial sectors, and energy networks.
Robust Offerings for the Future of Energy
Among the highlights of Envision's offering are the AI Power System tailored for AI-driven data centers, and the Gen 8 long-duration energy storage system with a capacity of 4.X MWh. Alongside these, they revealed a comprehensive hybrid solution that seamlessly combines wind and solar energy with energy storage, utilizing a solar inverter developed in-house by Envision. This all-encompassing approach underscores Envision's commitment to creating a stable, affordable, and low-carbon energy source essential for the growth of AI and industrial sectors.
Kevin Huang, Senior Vice President at Envision, emphasized the urgency of addressing the reliable energy supply for AI and industrial growth, citing that the availability of stable, inexpensive, and low-carbon energy is pivotal. He stated, “The next phase of energy transformation will not just be determined by the cost per watt-hour but by the competitiveness of the entire energy ecosystem. Our goal is to ensure that renewable energy is not only clean but also reliable, controllable, and economically competitive on a large scale.”
Advancements in AI Energy Infrastructure
The AI Power System is poised to tackle the rising demand for computational power from AI applications that often outstrips the availability of clean energy needed to meet this demand. Leveraging physical AI models, the system efficiently coordinates energy production, manages electricity interactions with the grid, and optimizes storage and computational loads. This is implemented across three strategic levels: hybrid wind and solar systems with energy storage at the grid level, battery energy storage systems (BESS) for medium voltage substations, and an 800 V DC power architecture that integrates semiconductor transformer technology.
For optimal efficiency, Envision’s SST container, rated at 2.5 MW, converts incoming AC voltage of 10/13.8 kV to an output of 800 V DC with conversion efficiencies of up to 98.5%, cutting copper consumption by 80%. Envision offers energy storage solutions with 800 V DC capability, enhancing dynamic power demands in AI-driven data centers. The compact energy storage system using LFP technology can output up to 2.5 MW for over two hours of backup, while sodium-ion technology can charge and discharge within minutes—demonstrating high thermal stability, remarkable performance, and longevity.
Pioneering Projects and Future Vision
The AI Power System has already begun operating in Envision’s Chifeng Net-Zero industrial park, contributing to a groundbreaking project for coordinating computational power alongside Tencent, a key cloud and AI service provider. Additionally, Envision is building the Envision Galaxy Campus in Ulanqab, a gigawatt-scale AI data center powered by directly connected renewable energy sources, showcasing how AI infrastructure can be designed from the ground up with a focus on clean and controllable energy.
This initiative also underpins Mission Gobi, an ambitious global project aimed at establishing 5 GW capacity for eco-friendly AI data centers in arid regions by 2030.
Gen 8 LDES and Long-Term Grid Stability
Envision also launched the Gen 8 system for long-duration energy storage, specifically designed for energy grids with high shares of renewable sources, ensuring stability in electricity supply. Utilizing proprietary technologies, this system can deliver 250% overload capacity for grid-forming applications, maintaining real behavior during significant transitions assessed in grid impact studies. It supports storage durations between 8 to 16 hours, achieving a cycle efficiency of up to 91% and designed for a 25-year operational lifespan.
Comprehensive Hybrid Solutions
Envision's full-stack hybrid solutions combine wind and solar energy with storage, providing industrial clients and energy companies with controllable clean energy around the clock. This offering has been expanded to feature the company's chain inverter for grid-connected photovoltaic systems for the first time in Europe, enabling real-time coordination of solar systems and storage under a unified architecture.
The integrated approach allows for millisecond-level coordination from module to plant level, enhancing performance reliability and economic indicators throughout the project life cycle. Envision's lifecycle services include forecasting, planning, dispatching, and operation, aimed at optimizing performance from development through decades of operation.
