DTX Group Emerges as a Global Aerospace Force Under Hussein Lookmanjee's Leadership

DTX Group Launches as a Global Player in Aerospace

DTX Group has officially announced its entry into the global aerospace sector, heralding a strategic evolution in the industry under the leadership of Hussein Lookmanjee. This major milestone comes after Lookmanjee's complete divestment from Drayton Aerospace, where he had previously played a pivotal role. His new venture, DTX Group, is positioned to capitalize on emerging market opportunities and reshape the landscape of aircraft maintenance worldwide.

With a robust foundation built over several years, DTX Group aims to seize growth opportunities across various international markets. The launch follows a significant strategic transition outlined back in 2019 by Drayton Aerospace, which established two parallel pathways for development: a regional division managed by local leadership and an international division led by Lookmanjee himself. This dual approach enabled a more localized decision-making process while maintaining an overarching global strategy.

The board recognized Lookmanjee's strengths in initiating new operations and tasked him with overseeing international operations, while strategic appointments like Mr. Hong Qi Ye as President of China and Mr. Steven Young as CEO of Drayton Aerospace were made to bolster local leadership.

While Lion Capital gained control over Drayton Aerospace's operations in China alongside eight other local partners, all non-Chinese entities—including maintenance and repair companies based in Brazil—remained under the exclusive ownership of DTX Group. This structural realignment underscores the differing strategic priorities between shareholders focused on the burgeoning Chinese market and DTX's international team.

In the past six years, Lookmanjee and his executive team have established a formidable global platform, launching new maintenance facilities, initiating a parts distribution line, and tapping into key markets such as South America and the Middle East. Under his guidance, Drayton Aerospace has emerged as a leading independent player in civil aviation maintenance and air cargo services.

Reflecting on this transition, Lookmanjee stated, "The time has come for this shift. DTX Group has developed into a competitive global entity deserving of heightened focus. This move allows us to pursue our initial international vision with greater clarity and independence. We plan to invest the proceeds from the divestiture of Drayton into strategic growth opportunities, including three exciting acquisitions expected to close before year-end."

Despite facing temporary setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DTX Group has regained its momentum. Officially established in September 2024 and headquartered in the Middle East, the group is actively involved in parts trading in the USA and operates two MRO facilities in Brazil. Looking ahead, DTX Group is on track to launch a new MRO facility in the Middle East by the third quarter of 2025, with further expansion planned for Africa and Europe.

Going forward, DTX Group will function independently to capitalize on growth opportunities worldwide. Its international team, refined over the years, is now fully integrated into the organization and is strategically positioned to lead the next phase of development with a clear and focused vision.
