On September 3, Four Roses Distillery will unveil an eagerly awaited selection: the 2025 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon. This celebratory release marks the 18th edition in an annual series that has continuously excited bourbon enthusiasts for years. Known for its artisanal approach to whiskey-making, Four Roses promises a unique concoction that highlights the distillery's rich heritage and variety.

The blend consists of an intricate combination of three distinct bourbon recipes, meticulously selected from Four Roses' ten unique recipes. These recipes come together in a harmonious blend, using four hand-selected batches that have been aged for 13 to 19 years. All of this is bottled at barrel strength, allowing the true character of the bourbon to shine through.

Unique Flavor Profile

Master Distiller Brent Elliott shared insights into this year's selection process, stating, "Each year, our goal is to craft a distinctive expression that showcases the best aspects of our ten recipes." For the 2025 edition, Elliott's choice centered around the 13-year-old V batches, which exhibit delicate fruit notes intertwined with sweet barrel undertones. To enhance complexity, the 13-year-old OBSK recipe was included. The 19-year-old OESV presence adds a final layer of depth, contributing to a sophisticated blend that is sure to impress.

The resulting tasting notes are a delightful evolution: the aroma greets the senses with sweet apricot, vanilla, caramel, and a hint of black tea leaves, all mellowed by oak undertones. As for the palate, the bourbon delivers flavorful layers of apricot, light citrus, and crème brûlée, complemented by spicy antique oak notes. This gratifying combination culminates in a soft, lingering finish that delights bourbon lovers.

Availability and Retail

Anticipation is high around the release, with Four Roses planning to issue roughly 16,854 bottles of the 2025 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon. Each bottle carries a suggested retail price of $249, available at select retailers nationwide and directly through the distillery via an exclusive bottle drawing. Entries for this drawing will be open from August 19 to August 24, and the lucky winners will be announced on August 29. Victorious entrants will have the opportunity to purchase and collect their bottle at the Four Roses Distillery Visitor Center in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, throughout September.
