Revo Secures $250 Million to Lead eVTOL Revolution in São Paulo
In a groundbreaking move expected to reshape urban air travel, Revo has entered into a significant investment agreement valued at $250 million with Eve Air Mobility. This venture involves the acquisition of up to 50 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, with the announcement made at the prestigious 2025 Paris Air Show. This partnership marks the first of its kind for Eve globally and symbolizes Revo's emergence as a frontrunner in the urban air mobility (UAM) sector.
Operating under the umbrella of Omni Helicopters International (OHI), Revo aims to be the pioneer in utilizing Eve’s cutting-edge eVTOLs in São Paulo, known for having the largest fleet of helicopters globally. With over 2,200 daily takeoffs and landings across 260 helipads, the bustling metropolis represents a prime location for advanced mobility solutions.
João Welsh, CEO of Revo, expressed enthusiasm about the future potential, stating, "The opportunity ahead of us is enormous, as major cities like São Paulo are in desperate need of mobility solutions." The CEO highlighted the ongoing growth of the UAM ecosystem and how it paves the way for seamless transportation across urban landscapes.
Since its inception nearly two years ago, Revo has been instrumental in advancing urban air mobility, focusing on developing the ecosystem necessary for the successful integration of eVTOL technology into passenger operations. Conducting simulations for urban traffic management with Eve’s Vector software, the company is dedicated to ensuring a smooth integration for its future services.
The contract also encompasses access to Eve TechCare, a comprehensive operational support package that aims to streamline eVTOL operations and enhance overall fleet performance. This collaboration illustrates the foundation of a strategic partnership that Revo and Eve have built since the former's inception. "After conducting joint tests and contributing to aircraft development, we are once again making history," noted Jeremy Akel, CEO of OHI.
With Revo's existing infrastructure of door-to-door mobility solutions, which already integrates helicopter flights with ground transportation, the introduction of eVTOLs stands to transform travel in São Paulo. Currently, a journey from Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima—São Paulo's financial nucleus—to Guarulhos International Airport takes 1.5 to 3 hours by conventional car travel. With the rollout of eVTOLs, this travel time could shrink to a mere 10 minutes, promising an unparalleled level of efficiency for its customers.
Sustainability is also at the forefront of Revo's ambitions, as the eVTOLs represent the shift to fully electric operations, aligning with the company’s and the city’s goals for greener transportation. The initial aircraft deliveries are anticipated by late 2027, marking a significant step towards a more sustainable urban air transport system.
Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, remarked, "This agreement with Revo and OHI represents a critical milestone for Eve, demonstrating growing market confidence in our technology and operational model." He emphasized that the partnership not only advances Eve's commercial agenda but significantly contributes to establishing a robust urban air mobility ecosystem.
As Revo embarks on this exciting new chapter, it continues to redefine the standards of urban travel while emphasizing safety, sustainability, and supreme customer experience. With plans to further enhance its service offerings, Revo is poised to become a benchmark for advanced urban air mobility solutions for years to come.
