The Huawei Cloud Summit, themed "Accelerate Intelligence, Amplify Success," concluded on March 2, 2025, in Barcelona. This event showcased a series of innovative services and solutions designed to enhance intelligent transformation across various industries.
Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Service, emphasized the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in current operations, stating that countries and companies are increasingly integrating AI into their core strategies. By leveraging the achievements of the open-source community, organizations can develop their own models without incurring substantial costs. Furthermore, the importance of high-quality data is highlighted as crucial to realizing AI applications.
Huawei Cloud's strategy involves a transition from being cloud-native to AI-native, leading continuous innovation in the sector. Shi explained that AI-native solutions are categorized into two main areas: "AI for the Cloud" and "Cloud for AI." The former refers to transforming all Huawei Cloud services into intelligent offerings using AI, while the latter focuses on establishing the best platform for AI development, including computational frameworks, data management, model tools, and professional services.
In 2024, Huawei Cloud recorded remarkable growth, achieving over a 50% increase in revenues from international markets. This growth established Huawei Cloud as a preferred digital partner for over 140 carriers and 500 financial institutions globally. Shi reiterated Huawei Cloud's commitment to enhancing cloud services and solutions to meet the diverse needs of clients, thereby advancing their own intelligence.
Huawei Cloud has developed new connectivity solutions for carriers, enabling them to connect more applications to bolster consumer and enterprise business. For governments, the transition from e-government services to smart management is facilitated through Huawei Cloud's resources. One notable innovation is the Huawei Cloud Pangu model for public sector use, paired with Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS) and Big Data services to improve public service delivery.
In the financial sector, Huawei Cloud introduced the Digital Core solution, aimed at replacing outdated mainframes and accelerating application modernization. Its Big Data solution, alongside the Pangu Financial Model, enhances customer service and data analysis capabilities.
For the media and entertainment industry, Huawei Cloud offers intelligent interaction solutions that aid in content creation and user engagement with tools such as CDN Cloud Live, Cloud Media Edge, and MetaStudio. Retailers benefit from AI-enabled retail solutions, providing real-time data insights, smart order forecasting, and digital sales assistants.
In the automotive domain, Huawei Cloud is leading with sophisticated intelligent Internet of Vehicles (IoV) and autonomous driving solutions, while also assisting customers in achieving enhanced manufacturing, production, and supply chain management through smart solutions.
Bruno Zhang, CTO of Huawei Cloud, shared insights on the evolution from cloud-native to AI-native infrastructure. He emphasized that the foundation for AI realization lies in robust cloud capabilities. Over the past few years, Huawei Cloud has focused on enabling enterprises to effectively migrate to the cloud and utilize it through cloud-native means. Building on this foundation, Huawei Cloud is advancing to develop native AI infrastructure such as CloudMatrix and AI Cloud Service, creating native AI cloud applications, including databases, Knowledge Lakes, and software development pipelines, while also offering AI models and tools for clients and partners to enhance their own AI model training and execution.
At MWC 2025, Huawei Cloud unveiled a suite of cloud services and solutions aimed at hastening the shift from cloud-native to AI-native. These offerings include the CloudDC Solution, Enterprise IT Cloud Migration Solution, Backup Disaster Recovery Continuity Center Solution, Large Model Security Solution, Cloud Multilayer Ransomware Protection Solution, GaussDB, TaurusDB, AI Cloud Service, Cloud Search Service, Cloud Device, and KooVehicle. Over the past year, Huawei Cloud’s innovative solutions have greatly assisted numerous prominent businesses in achieving sustainable success.
Iñaki Fuentes, COO of TravelgateX, highlighted how the implementation of Huawei Cloud's cloud-native technology has propelled the development of top-tier travel services, enhancing program delivery and infrastructure scalability. This resulted in cost savings of 20% and a performance boost of 35%. TravelgateX utilized Huawei Cloud to deliver personalized services and make data-driven business decisions.
Fajrin Rasyid, Chief Digital Innovation Officer of Telkom Indonesia, described their strategic cooperation with Huawei, focusing on data centers and cloud services to evolve into a digital carrier for Indonesia’s thriving digital ecosystem. Meanwhile, Mustafa Kemal Erișen, IT Head of Turkish e-commerce company Hepsiburada, reported significant advancements after migrating their search service to Huawei Cloud, emphasizing a 50-fold increase in platform throughput, a 95% decrease in service response times, and a 150% boost in bandwidth utilization.
Throughout the summit, Huawei Cloud and its partners presented over 20 joint solutions across finance, automotive, retail, media, and public services aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of these sectors. Furthermore, Huawei Cloud held a Cloud Native Elite Club (CNEC) Roundtable focused on the theme of "Accelerating Data-AI Convergence and Building Distinctive AI Capabilities." Visionary leaders convened to explore the creation of robust data foundations for the AI era and discussed best practices for generating optimal value through data and forming unique strengths for the future.
