A New Culinary Destination in Akasaka: "Osake Ko料理 Chikusen"

On May 18, 2026, the Kyoritsu Foods Service, a subsidiary of Kyoritsu Maintenance, is set to unveil its new Japanese dining establishment, "Osake Ko料理 Chikusen." This opening coincides with the renovation of the existing "Toki no Niwa" restaurant, creating a one-stop destination for a variety of dining experiences in the heart of Akasaka, Tokyo.

A Unified Japanese Dining Space

Kyoritsu Foods Service brings years of expertise in hospitality, honed through their work in dormitory and hotel management. With a focus on Japanese cuisine, these dining venues will cater to everything from casual meals to official business dinners and late-night gatherings. The combined offerings across the basement and two floors will allow diverse guest needs to be met.

Here's a brief look at the establishments within this culinary enclave:
  • - 2nd Floor: Ryotei Sato (Japanese cuisine) - By reservation only.
  • - 1st Floor: Toki no Niwa (Japanese restaurant) - A reimagined dining experience.
  • - Basement: Osake Ko料理 Chikusen (Small dishes) - A cozy setting for small plate dining.

Osake Ko料理 Chikusen: A Relaxed Atmosphere

"Osake Ko料理 Chikusen" embraces the charm of traditional Japanese dining with a modern twist. Guests are invited to relax amid a bamboo-inspired environment that features seasonal ingredients presented with care. The staff, dressed in kimonos and traditional aprons, aim to provide a fresh yet nostalgic dining experience, reinforcing the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant.

With seating options including a comfortable counter and tables, there is also a private karaoke room for up to eight guests, promoting a friendly setting for casual meetings or after-party celebrations.

A Message from the Owner

The owner of Chikusen aims to offer a refreshing experience for younger customers who may be unfamiliar with small dining establishments, while providing comfort to longtime patrons with elements of nostalgia. Though the space is intimate, the focus remains on providing a warm escape where guests can unwind and leave their daily stresses behind. Everyone is welcomed with open arms.

Toki no Niwa: Newly Renovated

On the first floor, Toki no Niwa has transformed into a refined space emphasizing tempura as its main attraction. With expert chefs using premium oils for cooking, guests can indulge in delicious, freshly prepared tempura. The restaurant will feature daily specials at lunchtime, along with multi-course tempura meals and à la carte options at dinner.

Guests can look forward to seasonal menus crafted with precision every month, using handpicked ingredients for exquisite and memorable dining experiences. Private rooms are available, making Toki no Niwa a fitting choice for both business conferences and personal meetings.
