ROHM Unveils Scalable Power Supply Solutions for Automotive SoCs

ROHM's Innovative Power Supply Solutions for Automotive SoCs

ROHM Co., Ltd. has made a significant leap in the automotive sector by introducing a scalable power supply solution. This new technology merges the PMIC BD968xx-C Series with the DrMOS BD96340MFF-C to meet the evolving needs of automotive SoCs (Systems on a Chip), which are integral in advanced applications such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and DMS (Driver Monitoring Systems). These developments come at a time when automotive technology is rapidly advancing and placing new demands on power supply architecture.

In recent years, the automotive industry's evolution towards highly sophisticated systems has prompted an increase in performance requirements for SoCs. As driving assistance technologies become more advanced and in-vehicle camera functionalities expand, power supply designs must adapt to support low-voltage, high-current operations, as well as advanced power sequencing controls to ensure high reliability.

Traditional power supply solutions often require extensive customization to cater to the varying specifications presented by different SoC manufacturers and their respective generations. This need for redesign often delays model rollouts and escalates development time and verification workloads. In response, ROHM's newly developed solution is rooted in a
