In a remarkable partnership, Turkcell, a leading Turkish telecommunications provider, has successfully reached a groundbreaking speed of 50Gbps in a real-world test of Full Duplex radio connection using E-band (80GHz) spectrum. On June 2, 2025, this innovative testing took place in Istanbul and is hailed as a first of its kind globally, underscoring Turkcell's commitment to advancing the country’s digital infrastructure. Prof. Dr. Vehbi Çağrı Güngör, Turkcell's Chief Technology Officer, emphasized the test's significance by stating that achieving this level of speed allows simultaneous access for approximately 10,000 users to voice and data services over the 5G network.
