About 4v4
The
4v4 tournament format was created by the renowned soccer player
Keisuke Honda to further enhance the soccer scene in Japan. Designed specifically for elementary school-aged children (U10, U12), the rules include matches lasting 10 minutes, free substitutions, and a feature where the goalkeeper can also participate in attacks. An innovative aspect is that there are no coaches or supervisors during the matches, promoting autonomy among young players, who can learn to adapt and grow through repeated match experiences.
This initiative aims to cultivate the future stars of Japanese soccer and instill in children the important life skills of critical thinking and action.
